THIS GUIDANCE DETAILS SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR CY2010 PRODUCTS AND
ACTIVITIES. THE DEADLINE FOR CHINFO MERIT AWARD ENTRIES IS 31 JAN 11.
THE DEADLINE FOR THOMPSON-RAVITZ AWARDS ENTRIES IS 25 MARCH 11.
2. THE CMA RECOGNIZE OUTSTANDING MEDIA PRODUCTS CREATED BY NAVY COMMANDS AND
INDIVIDUALS. CMA PRINT MEDIA CATEGORIES INCLUDE:
NEWSPAPERS, FEATURE, NEWS AND SPORTS WRITING, PHOTOGRAPHY, OFFICIAL WEB
PRESENCES, FAMILYGRAMS, CRUISEBOOKS AND OTHERS. CMA BROADCAST MEDIA CATEGORIES
INCLUDE: RADIO ENTERTAINMENT PROGRAMS, RADIO SPOT PRODUCTION, TELEVISION
INFORMATION PROGRAMS, TELEVISION REPORTS, SITE TELEVISION NEWSCASTS AND
OTHERS. SEVERAL INDIVIDUAL AWARDS ARE ALSO INCLUDED IN THE PROGRAM.
A. ALL CMA ENTRIES MUST BE SUBMITTED ELECTRONICALLY VIA NAVY VISUAL NEWS
SERVICE'S NAVY IMAGERY SERVER (MEDIA LIGHTHOUSE). THE SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION
IDENTIFIED IN THE SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS MUST ACCOMPANY THE ENTRY.
B. FIRST PLACE CMA WINNERS IN SELECTED PRINT CATEGORIES AND BROADCAST
CATEGORIES WILL REPRESENT THE NAVY IN THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE THOMAS
JEFFERSON AWARDS PROGRAM.
3. TR AWARDS PROMOTE PROFESSIONAL COMMUNICATION EXPERTISE AND EXCELLENCE BY
RECOGNIZING AND REWARDING THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF NAVY COMMANDS AND PERSONNEL.
TR CATEGORIES INCLUDE: COMMUNITY RELATIONS, SPECIAL EVENTS AND PROJECTS,
PUBLIC INFORMATION AND INTERNAL COMMUNICATION. INDIVIDUAL AWARDS FOR JUNIOR
PAO OF THE YEAR, JUNIOR RESERVE PAO OF THE YEAR, JUNIOR CIVILIAN PAO OF THE
YEAR AND ENLISTED PAO OF THE YEAR ARE ALSO INCLUDED IN THE PROGRAM. ALL TR
ENTRIES MUST BE SUBMITTED ELECTRONICALLY VIA PA-NET. CONTACT POC FOR FURTHER
GUIDANCE ON ENTRY SUBMISSION.
4. PARTICIPATION IN EACH PROGRAM IS HIGHLY ENCOURAGED FOR MASS COMMUNICATION
SPECIALISTS AND OFFICER AND CIVILIAN PUBLIC AFFAIRS PROFESSIONALS. THE NAVY'S
WORK IN COMMUNICATING "AMERICA'S NAVY: A GLOBAL FORCE FOR GOOD" IN 2010 HAS
BEEN EXCEPTIONAL. NAVY PROFESSIONALS WORK DILIGENTLY TO TELL THE NAVY STORY
AND DESERVE RECOGNITION FOR THEIR ACCOMPLISHMENTS.
