RMKS/1.  This NAVADMIN announces a change in the Post 9-11 GI Bill transfer 
of education benefits (TEB) eligibility announced in reference (a), allowing 
Service Members over 16 years of service to continue eligibility and transfer 
education benefits to their dependents.

2.  Section 574 of reference (b) includes language that prohibits the 
Department of Defense (DOD) from limiting Service Member eligibility to 
transfer unused education benefits to family members based on a maximum 
number of years of service in the U.S. Armed Forces.  DOD will update 
reference (a) to reflect this change. Reference (c) is canceled effective 
immediately.

3.  Eligible Service Members who have served 6 or more years may transfer 
their unused Post 9-11 GI Bill benefits to their eligible dependents.  
Service Members transferring their Post 9-11 GI Bill benefits must serve an 
additional 4-year service obligation on Active-duty or in the Selected 
Reserve.

4.  All other Post 9-11 GI Bill and TEB policies remain in effect.
