SUBJ/2014 NAVAL SHORE ACTIVITIES SAILOR OF THE YEAR//

RMKS/1.  I am pleased to announce the selection of HM1(FMF/SW) Jason P. 
Hildreth as the 2014 Naval Shore Activities Sailor of the Year.

2.  Petty Officer Hildreth was nominated by the Bureau of Medicine and 
Surgery, and selected from a field of 24 nominations representing some of the 
finest Petty Officers currently serving ashore.  Congratulations to him and 
the four other finalists:
   a.  CE1(SCW/EXW) Yancey L. Barnes, Naval Facilities Engineering Command.
   b.  LS1(SW/AW) Jairo N. Guity, Naval Supply Systems Command.
   c.  IT1(EXW/IDW) Aidah N. Muhammaddurham, Naval Special Warfare Command.
   d.  MA1(IDW) Jonathon T. Walter, Strategic Systems Programs.

3.  The competition was robust and reflected the high caliber of Sailors at 
shore activities throughout the world.  All of the finalists represented 
their commands and the entire enlisted community with distinction.

4.  Petty Officer Hildreth will advance to compete during the 2014 Navy Shore 
Sailor of the Year competition in April 2015.
