RMKS/1.  I am pleased to announce the selection of YN1 Lequisha M. Shine as 
the 2019 Naval Shore Activities Sailor of the Year.

2.  Petty Officer Shine was nominated by Commander, Naval Special Warfare 
Command and selected from a field of 11 nominations representing some of the 
finest Petty Officers currently serving in our Navy.  Congratulations to her 
and the other two exceptional finalists:

    a. YN1 Angela L. Cleland, representing Commander, Navy Reserve Force.
    b. EO1 Joseph R. Rodriguez, representing Commander, Naval Sea Systems
    Command.

3.  The competition was robust and reflected the high caliber of Sailors 
serving at shore activities throughout the world.  All of the finalists 
represented their commands and the entire enlisted community with 
distinction.

4.  Petty Officer Shine will next compete during the 2019 Navy Shore Sailor 
of the Year competition in May.
