RMKS/1.  REF A ANNOUNCED A REALIGNMENT OF THE NAVY PERSONNEL COMMAND 
(NPC) CAREER MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT TO PROVIDE IMPROVED SERVICE TO NEWLY 
FORMED FLEET READINESS ENTERPRISES (FRE) THAT IS COMMENSURATE WITH THE 
EXISTING LEVEL OF SERVICE PROVIDED TO MORE MATURE (SURFACE, UNDERSEA 
AND AVIATION) ENTERPRISES.  TWO NEW DIVISIONS WERE ESTABLISHED WITHIN 
NPC TO DIRECTLY INTERFACE WITH THE NAVY EXPEDITIONARY COMBAT ENTERPRISE 
(NECE) AND THE NAVY NETWAR AND FORCENET ENTERPRISE (NNFE).
IN ORDER TO CAPITALIZE ON EFFICIENCIES IN OUR FISCALLY CONSTRAINED 
ENVIRONMENT, THE EXPEDITIONARY WARFARE DIVISION (PERS-46) WILL BE 
REALIGNED WITHIN EXISTING DIVISIONS.  EXPLOSIVE ORDNANCE DISPOSAL 
OFFICERS WILL RESIDE IN PERS-41.  CIVIL ENGINEER CORPS AND PUBLIC 
AFFAIRS OFFICERS WILL RESIDE IN PERS-44.  FOREIGN AREA OFFICERS WILL 
RESIDE IN PERS-47.

2.  EFFECTIVE 1 MAY 2009, THE EXPEDITIONARY WARFARE DIVISION (PERS-
46) WILL BE DISESTABLISHED.  EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, OFFICIAL 
CORRESPONDENCE TO NPC SHOULD REFLECT THIS NEW CODING SCHEME.
DIRECTIVES WILL BE CHANGED DURING NORMAL ANNUAL REVIEW CYCLES.
