GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  THE WEAR OF THE DESERT CAMOUFLAGE UTILITY UNIFORM
(DCU) FOR OEF/OIF PERSONNEL TRAVELING IN CONUS IS APPROVED.
2.  THE DCU IS INTENDED FOR NAVY PERSONNEL ASSIGNED IN
COMBAT/HOSTILE FIRE ZONES, WORKING UNDER ARDUOUS FIELD CONDITIONS,
AND SERVING WITH JOINT COMMANDS IN ACCORDANCE WITH NAVY UNIFORM
REGULATIONS.
3.  WHILE OCONUS, PERSONNEL WHO ARE DEPLOYING, EXECUTING PERMANENT
CHANGE OF STATION ORDERS, OR ON REST AND RELAXATION LEAVE STATUS TO
OR FROM THE FIFTH FLEET AOR WILL COMPLY WITH COMMANDER, U.S. NAVAL
FORCES CENTRAL COMMAND/COMMANDER, FIFTH FLEET OPORD 1000-01,
PARAGRAPH 4, SUBPARAGRAPH G; "ALL TRAVEL IN THE USCENTCOM AOR WILL
BE PERFORMED IN APPROPRIATE CIVILAIN ATTIRE.  T-SHIRTS, SHORTS,
SANDALS, ETC., ARE NOT CONSIDERED APPROPRIATE ATTIRE.  UNIFORMS
SHALL NOT BE WORN WHEN USING AMC, AMC CHARTER, OR COMMERCIAL TRAVEL.
4.  WHILE IN CONUS, PERSONNEL TRANSFERRING TO AND FROM THE FIFTH
FLEET AOR ARE AUTHORIZED TO WEAR THE DCUS ON U.S. FLAG COMMERCIAL
FLIGHTS (I.E. FROM AIRPORT OF ENTRY TO HOME AND VICE VERSA).  DCUS
WILL BE CLEAN AND PRESENT A SHARP MILITARY APPEARANCE.
5.  IN ALL CASES, AT LEAST ONE SET OF CIVILIAN ATTIRE IS TO BE
PACKED IN CARRY-ON LUGGAGE FOR CONTINGENCY SITUATIONS.
6.  TRAVEL IN THE DCU IS NOT AUTHORIZED ON ANY COMMERCIAL CARRIER
FOR ANY REASON OTHER THAN STIPULATED IN THIS MESSAGE.
7.  THIS POLICY IS IN EFFECT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
