OFFICER (CWO) IN-SERVICE PROCUREMENT BOARD//

RMKS/1. THE NAVY IS SEEKING APPLICATIONS FROM HIGHLY QUALIFIED AND
MOTIVATED E-6 THROUGH E-9 PERSONNEL FOR THE FY-10 ACTIVE LDO AND CWO
PROGRAMS. LIMITED DUTY OFFICERS AND CHIEF WARRANT OFFICERS BRING A
VARIETY OF EXPERIENCE AND UNIQUE PERSPECTIVES INTO THE WARDROOM FROM
THEIR ENLISTED SERVICE. THE LDO AND CWO CAREER PATHS PROVIDE
ADDITIONAL LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR SAILORS AND ENHANCE THEIR
ABILITY TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE NAVY. UNLIKE OTHER ENLISTED COMMISSIONING
PROGRAMS, THE LDO AND CWO PROGRAMS DELIVER TO THE OFFICER CORPS
SEASONED PROFESSIONALS WITH PROVEN LEADERSHIP ABILITIES AT AN
ECONOMICAL COST.

2. LIMITED DUTY OFFICERS PROVIDE BROAD TECHNICAL MANAGEMENT AND
LEADERSHIP SKILLS, AND CHIEF WARRANT OFFICERS PROVIDE SPECIFIC
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE AND LEADERSHIP SKILLS IN SUPPORT OF THE
UNRESTRICTED LINE, RESTRICTED LINE AND STAFF COMMUNITIES. THEY SERVE
IN A VARIETY OF LEADERSHIP BILLETS WITHIN THEIR TECHNICAL FIELDS,
RANGING FROM DIVISION OFFICER TO COMMANDING OFFICER ASHORE.

3. TIME-IN-SERVICE ELIGIBILITY DATE FOR THE FY-10 BOARD IS COMPUTED TO
1 OCT 09, THE FIRST DAY OF FY-10. APPLICATIONS MUST BE POSTMARKED NO
LATER THAN 1 OCT 08, AND ADDENDA TO APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED NO
LATER THAN 1 DEC 08. COMMANDS SHOULD ENSURE COPIES OF THE MOST RECENT
PERIODIC FITREP OR EVAL FOR THEIR APPLICANTS ARE SUBMITTED IN THE
ORIGINAL APPLICATION OR IN AN ADDENDUM TO ENSURE CONTINUITY FOR BOARD

APPLY FOR THE DESIGNATOR FOR WHICH THEY ARE MOST QUALIFIED, REGARDLESS
OF CURRENT RATING. EACH APPLICANT AND THEIR PARENT COMMAND MUST ENSURE
