RMKS/1. Per ref (a), nominations are requested for the annual DOD Supply 
Chain Excellence Award.  Ref (b) provides guidelines for submission.  Ref (c) 
defines the supply chain processes.

2. Logistics provides Americas strategic advantage to deter and decisively 
defeat our adversaries.  New threats to our national security demand that we 
transform logistics in order to project and sustain dominant power.  
Transforming to a more reliable, agile, and responsive defense logistics 
program and innovative approach will significantly improve the reliability, 
flexibility, and responsiveness of the defense supply chain.

3.  The DOD Award for Supply Chain Excellence will recognize the organization 
that operates significant components of a supply chain and has demonstrated 
excellence in design, operation, or improvement from 1 January 2017 to 31 
December 2017.  Nominations should demonstrate successful implementation of 
the supply chain process categories as defined in ref (c).

4.  Each organization may submit two nominations.  Submission
requirements:
    a.  MS Word format.
    b.  A response for each category in ref (b) is required.
    c.  All criteria within each category must be addressed.
    d.  Cover letter signed by a general or flag officer in the
    organization, must identify the project, submitting organization,
    and a single point of contact (including address, phone number, and
    e-mail).  Explicitly state whether the package can be made
    publically available.
    e.  Executive summary (1-2 pages) of the award submission is
    required.

5.  Nominations must be received at the Office of the Deputy Assistant 
Secretary of Defense (Supply Chain Integration)
(ODASD(SCI)) no later than 1 February 2018.  Submissions should include two 
hard copies (paper) and one electronic copy.  Electronic copies should be 
submitted directly to Jan Mulligan at jan.b.mulligan.civ@mail.mil.  Hard 
copies should be submitted to
ODASD(SCI) c/o LMI, Attention:  Supply Chain Award Nomination/Mr.
Stuart Jones, 7940 Jones Branch Drive, Tysons, VA 22102.
