RMKS/1. THE PURPOSE OF THIS MESSAGE IS TO REITERATE THE AVAILABILITY OF 
RETURNING WARRIOR WORKSHOPS TO ACTIVE COMPONENT INDIVIDUAL AUGMENTEE 
(IA) SAILORS AND THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF COMMANDERS, COMMANDING 
OFFICERS, AND OFFICERS IN CHARGE TO ACTIVELY ENCOURAGE AND SUPPORT 
ACTIVE COMPONENT PARTICIPATION.

2. RETURNING WARRIOR WORKSHOPS (RWW), ESTABLISHED UNDER REF A, ARE A 
PROVEN AND VITAL REINTEGRATION TOOL FOR OUR IA SAILORS. THESE WORKSHOPS 
ARE CONDUCTED AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR AND ARE DESIGNED 
TO SUPPORT UP TO 150 ATTENDEES AT EACH LOCATION. SAILORS AND THEIR 
SPOUSE (OR SIGNIFICANT OTHER) ATTEND FOCUSED BRIEFS AND DISCUSSIONS 
OVER A TWO-DAY PERIOD DESIGNED SPECIFICALLY TO ADDRESS THE ISSUES AND 
CONCERNS COMMONLY ASSOCIATED WITH THESE NON-TRADITIONAL DEPLOYMENTS. IN 
ADDITION, ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE ALSO INVITED TO ATTEND A BANQUET AT THE 
CONCLUSION WHICH FOCUSES ON HONORING THE SAILORS AND FAMILIES FOR THEIR 
SERVICE AND SUPPORT. COMMANDS ARE MOST STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO SUPPORT 
THE ATTENDANCE OF ACTIVE COMPONENT SAILORS AT THESE EVENTS.

3. RWW SCHEDULES CAN BE FOUND AT WWW.IA.NAVY.MIL (IA RESOURCES TAB). 
WHEN TRAVEL TO AN RWW IS NECESSARY, COMMANDS WILL PROVIDE NECESSARY TDY 
FUNDING FOR THEIR IA SAILOR AND THEIR SPOUSE/SIGNIFICANT OTHER TO 
TRAVEL ROUND-TRIP FROM HOMEPORT TO THE RWW LOCATION; UTILIZING COST-OF-
WAR FUNDING PROCEDURES AS DESCRIBED IN THE FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT 
REGULATION DOD 7000.14-R, VOLUME 12, CHAPTER 23. INVITATIONAL TRAVEL 
ORDERS ARE AUTHORIZED TO PAY FOR TRAVEL EXPENSES FOR SPOUSE/SIGNIFICANT 
OTHER. LODGING COSTS ARE INCLUDED IN THE RWW PROGRAM AND PROVIDED FREE 
OF CHARGE TO THE IA SAILOR AND THEIR SPOUSE/ SIGNIFICANT OTHER.
