RMKS/1.  THIS NAVADMIN ANNOUNCES THE FY11 CHAPLAIN CORPS STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP 
SYMPOSIUM (SLS) WHICH WILL BE HELD 24-27 JANUARY 2011 AT THE MARRIOTT 
COLUMBIA, 1200 HAMPTON STREET, COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA.  THIS YEAR'S THEME 
IS, "PROFESSIONAL NAVAL CHAPLAINCY."

2.  THE CHIEF OF CHAPLAINS CONDUCTS AN ANNUAL SYMPOSIUM FOR RESERVE AND ACTIVE 
COMPONENT SENIOR CHAPLAIN CORPS OFFICERS (O6) AND SENIOR RELIGIOUS PROGRAM 
SPECIALISTS (E9 AND E8) TO FOSTER REGULAR AND TIMELY IMPLEMENTATION OF THE 
DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY STRATEGIC PLAN FOR RELIGIOUS MINISTRY.  THE 2011 
STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP SYMPOSIUM WILL EQUIP CHAPLAIN CORPS AND RELIGIOUS PROGRAM 
SPECIALIST SENIOR LEADERSHIP WITH THE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS NECESSARY FOR THE 
EXECUTION OF THIS ITERATION OF ITS STRATEGIC PLAN.  PROFESSIONAL NAVAL 
CHAPLAINCY (PNC), AN ELEMENT OF GOAL TWO OF THE DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY 
STRATEGIC PLAN FOR RELIGIOUS MINISTRY, IS THE FIELD OF ENDEAVOR IN WHICH NAVY 
CHAPLAINS AND RELIGIOUS MINISTRY TEAMS (RMT) DELIVER TO THE SEA SERVICES AND 
AUTHORIZED RECIPIENTS RELIGIOUS MINISTRY CHARACTERIZED BY COOPERATION, 
TOLERANCE, MUTUAL RESPECT, AND RESPECT FOR DIVERSITY.  IT IS FURTHER 
CHARACTERIZED BY AN UNDERSTANDING OF BOTH THE PLURALISTIC NATURE OF THE 
ENVIRONMENT, AND THE PROCESSES AND STRUCTURES OF THE ORGANIZATIONS AND 
INSTITUTIONS SERVED.

3.  CONFERENCE UNIFORM OF THE DAY IS KHAKIS OR SERVICE EQUIVALENT.

5.  THE SYMPOSIUM IS FROM 24-27 JANUARY 2011 (TRAVEL DATES 23 AND 28 JANUARY 
2011).  REGISTRATION WILL BEGIN ON SUNDAY, 23 JANUARY 2011, FROM 1530 TO 1730 
AND WILL RESUME AT 0630 ON MONDAY, 24 JANUARY 2011.  THE CONFERENCE WILL BEGIN 
MONDAY MORNING, 24 JANUARY 2011, AND CONCLUDE THURSDAY, 27 JANUARY 2011, AT 
1530.

6.  PER REF B, PARAGRAPH 5.E.9, ALL O6 AND O6(SELECT) CHAPLAIN CORPS OFFICERS, 
AND E9 AND E8 RELIGIOUS PROGRAM SPECIALISTS ARE EXPECTED TO ATTEND.  COMMANDS 
SHOULD PROVIDE APPROPRIATE FUNDS FOR THIS SYMPOSIUM.
