RMKS/1.  Per reference (a), nominations are requested for the annual 
Department of Defense (DoD) Supply Chain Excellence Award.  Reference (b) 
provides guidelines for submission and can be found at 
https://www.acq.osd.noclick_mil/log/SCI/award_for_excellence.html.  
Reference (c) defines the supply chain processes.

2.  Logistics is America’s strategic advantage to deter and decisively defeat 
our adversaries. New threats to our national security demand that we 
transform logistics to project and sustain dominant power. Transforming to 
more reliable, agile, and responsive defense logistics programs enables the 
use of best practices and innovative approaches to significantly improve the 
reliability, flexibility, and responsiveness of the defense supply chain and 
advance the DoDs overall supply chain management (SCM).

3.  The DOD Award for Supply Chain Excellence will recognize the organization 
that operates significant components of a supply chain and has demonstrated 
excellence in design, operation, or improvement of that supply chain from 1 
January to 31 December 19.  The nomination should demonstrate successful 
implementation of the supply chain process categories as defined in reference 
(c).

4.  Each organization may submit two nominations.  Submission requirements:
    a.  Microsoft Word format
    b.  A response for each selection criteria in reference (b)
    c.  Specific criteria within the categories must be addressed
    d.  Cover letter signed by a General or Flag Officer in the organization,
    must identify the project, submitting organization, and a single point of
    contact (including address, phone number, and e-mail address)
    e.  Executive summary (1-2 pages) of the award submission is required
    f.  As all nominations are customarily posted on the ASD (Sustainment)
public website, a sanitized version of the package is required for posting if 
the original package is sensitive/cannot be posted on the ASD (Sustainment) 
public website.

5.  Nominations must be received at the Office of the Deputy Assistant 
Secretary of Defense for Logistics (ODASD(Logistics)) no later than 01 
February 2020.  Submissions should include either two paper copies or one 
electronic copy.  Electronic copies should be submitted directly to Ms. Jan 
Mulligan at jan.b.mulligan.civ@mail.mil, with a courtesy copy to Mr. Nate 
Wurst at nathan.j.wurst.ctr@mail.mil.  Hard copies should be submitted to
ODASD(Logistics) c/o LMI, Attention:  Supply Chain Award Nomination/
Mr. Michael Arnold, 7940 Jones Branch Drive, Tysons, VA 22102.
