RMKS/1.  THE USS BAINBRIDGE (CGN 25) AWARD,NAMED IN HONOR OF A SHIP AND IT'S 
CREW THAT CONSISTENTLY PROVIDED TREMENDOUS COMMUNITY SUPPORT, IS GIVEN TO A 
NAVY COMMAND FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING EFFORTS IN WORKING WITH AMERICA'S 
COMMUNITIES.

2. IT IS WITH GREAT PLEASURE THAT I ANNOUNCE THE 2010 USS BAINBRIDGE (CGN 25) 
AWARD WINNER:
A. NAVAL AIR STATION, PATUXENT RIVER, FOR PROVIDING OUTSTANDING SUPPORT TO 
THEIR COMMUNITY. THE SAILORS AT THIS COMMAND GREATLY IMPACTED THEIR COMMUNITY 
BY CONTRIBUTING MORE THAN 4,400 VOLUNTEER HOURS FOR MORE THAN 10,300 STUDENTS, 
1,025 VOLUNTEER HOURS FOR THE SPECIAL OLYMPICS 40TH ANNUAL SPRING GAMES, THE 
STARBASE-ATLANTIS PROGRAM AND EARTH DAY. THEY HAVE PROVIDED CONTINUED SUPPORT 
FOR ST.
MARY'S COUNTY CHRISTMAS IN APRIL, REPAIRING 589 HOMES AND 14 NONPROFIT 
FACILITIES. THESE ARE JUST A FEW EXAMPLES OF THIS COMMAND'S TIRELESS EFFORT TO 
IMPROVE THE COMMUNITY IN WHICH THESE SAILORS LIVE AND WORK.
B. I AM ALSO PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THE RECIPIENT OF THE 2010 HONORABLE MENTION: 
MARITIME EXPEDITIONARY SECURITY SQUADRON SEVEN, FOR PROVIDING OUTSTANDING 
SUPPORT TO THEIR COMMUNITY. THE SAILORS AT THIS COMMAND GREATLY IMPACTED THE 
GUAM COMMUNITY BY PARTICIPATING IN EARTH WEEK, SCIENCE FAIRS, SPECIAL 
OLYMPICS, BIG BROTHERS/BIG SISTERS PROGRAMS, HABITAT FOR HUMANITY, GUAM 
ANIMALS IN NEED, TUTORING STUDENTS AT THE JOSE RIOS MIDDLE SCHOOL IN AGAT, 
GUAM, RED RIBBON WEEK WHERE THEY PRESENTED DANGERS OF DRUGS AND ALCOHOL TO 
MORE THAN 700 STUDENTS AND HELPING MORE THAN 50 ORPHANED, ABANDONED AND 
SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN THROUGHOUT SOUTHWESTERN MINDANAO.  THESE ARE JUST A FEW 
EXAMPLES OF THEIR MANY ACCOMPLISHMENTS.

3. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL PARTICIPATING COMMANDS AND TO THE COMMUNITIES THAT 
BENEFITED FROM OUR DEDICATED AND CARING SAILORS AND CIVILIANS.  YOUR 
PARTICIPATION AND CONTINUED SUPPORT OF OUR NAVY'S COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAMS 
ARE SINCERELY APPRECIATED AND ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE.

WILL RECEIVE A CERTIFICATE.
