STARTS 6 AUGUST 2007. PROGRAM GRADUATION IS SCHEDULED FOR 8 MAY 2008.

5. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE SELECTEES. THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES GREAT 
OPPORTUNITIES TO INCREASE YOUR EXPERTISE WHILE BROADENING YOUR 
UNDERSTANDING OF THE CRITICAL ROLE VISUAL INFORMATION PLAYS IN 
COMMUNICATION. WE ALSO APPRECIATE THE EFFORTS AND GOOD WORK OF ALL 
THOSE WHO APPLIED.

6. FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO APPLY FOR THE 2008-2009 ACADEMIC YEAR, 
APPLICATIONS WILL BE DUE NO LATER THAN 1 SEPTEMBER 2007, WHICH IS 
EARLIER THAN FOR PREVIOUS CLASSES. THIS WILL BETTER ALIGN THE 
SELECTIONS WITH THE DETAILING PROCESS AND ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS FOR 
SYRACUSE.

7. APPLICANTS MUST BE INRATE APPROVED IN PTS PRIOR TO SUBMITTING A 
PACKAGE FOR CONSIDERATION. APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED PER THE 
CATALOG OF NAVY TRAINING COURSES (CANTRAC) VIA HYPER TEXT TRANSFER

8. COURSE SCOPE, PREREQUISITES AND APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS ARE FOUND 
IN THE CANTRAC WHICH CAN BE ACCESSED VIA THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT 
SECTION OF THE NAVY EDUCATION AND TRAINING COMMAND WEBSITE AT

9. DUE TO THE NINE-MONTH COURSE LENGTH, MOTION MEDIA AND 
PHOTOJOURNALISM COURSES ARE PCS TRANSFERS AND REQUIRE COMPLETION OF A 
TWO-YEAR MINIMUM TIME ON STATION AT CURRENT COMMAND PRIOR TO TRANSFER. 
PRIMARY CONSIDERATION WILL BE GIVEN TO APPLICANTS WITH A PROJECTED 
ROTATION DATE IN FISCAL YEAR 2008. BUPERS HAS FINAL APPROVAL PRIOR TO 
FINAL SELECTION. APPLICANTS CURRENTLY UNDER PCS ORDERS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE 
AND WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

10. WAIVERS OF PREREQUISITES, E.G., TIS, PG, TOS WILL BE CONSIDERED ON 
A CASE-BY-CASE BASIS. COMMANDING OFFICERS SHOULD ADDRESS APPLICANT'S 
MATURITY, ABILITY TO WORK INDEPENDENTLY, FINANCIAL SECURITY AND 
ACADEMIC ABILITY WHEN RECOMMENDING A NOMINEE, AND PARTICULARLY WHEN 
REQUESTING WAIVERS.

11. SELECTEES FOR THE 2008-2009 CLASS WILL BE NOTIFIED VIA NAVAL 
MESSAGE NLT 30 SEPTEMBER 2007.

12. IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT ALL APPLICANTS SEEK THE GUIDANCE OF A 
PROGRAM GRADUATE TO MENTOR THEM IN PORTFOLIO DEVELOPMENT. POC WILL
