RMKS/1. THIS NAVADMIN ANNOUNCES THE ASSOCIATION OF NAVAL SERVICES
OFFICERS (ANSO) PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING CONFERENCE BEING
HELD 2-6 MAY 2011 AT THE OMNI SAN ANTONIO HOTEL AT THE COLONNADE, SAN
ANTONIO, TX.
2. ANSO IS THE LARGEST AND FASTEST GROWING ORGANIZATION TO FOSTER THE
ADVANCEMENT AND RECOGNITION OF HISPANIC OFFICERS IN THE UNIFORMED NAVAL
SERVICES. ANSO IS ENDORSED BY ADMIRAL GARY ROUGHEAD, THE CHIEF OF NAVAL
OPERATIONS (CNO), GENERAL JAMES F. AMOS, THE COMMANDANT OF THE MARINE
CORPS (CMC), ADMIRAL ROBERT J. PAPP JR., THE COMMANDANT OF THE COAST
GUARD (CCG), AND THE US MERCHANT MARINE SERVICES. ANTICIPATED GUEST
SPEAKERS ARE THE CNO, CMC, CCG, MASTER CHIEF PETTY OFFICER OF THE NAVY
RICK D. WEST, AND SERGEANT MAJOR OF THE MARINE CORPS CARLTON W. KENT.
THE 2011 CONFERENCE THEME IS "ANSO: REMEMBERING THE PAST AND FORGING
THE FUTURE!"
3. UNIFORM FOR NAVY PERSONNEL E7 AND ABOVE WILL BE SERVICE KHAKI, AND
SERVICE UNIFORM FOR E6 AND BELOW. CIVILIANS SHOULD WEAR EQUIVALENT
BUSINESS ATTIRE. THE UNIFORM FOR THE FORMAL AWARDS BANQUET WILL BE
DINNER DRESS WHITE JACKET (OR OPTIONAL DINNER DRESS WHITE UNIFORM FOR O3
AND BELOW) AND BLACK TIE (OR EQUIVALENT) FOR CIVILIANS AND GUESTS.
4. COMMANDING OFFICERS ARE AUTHORIZED TO SUPPORT ATTENDANCE.
COMMANDING OFFICERS MAY AUTHORIZE AND ISSUE TAD ORDERS, TO INCLUDE
REGISTRATION.
5. REGISTRATION, TRANSPORTATION, AND LODGING INFORMATION CAN BE FOUND

LIFE MEMBERS, $350 FOR MEMBERS, AND $375 FOR NON-MEMBERS. AN ADDITIONAL
$50 LATE FEE WILL BE APPLIED FOR ATTENDEES WHO REGISTER AFTER 22 APRIL
