RMKS/1.  THIS NAVADMIN ANNOUNCES APPLICATION PROCEDURES FOR THE FY-10 
GRADUATE EDUCATION PLUS TEACHING (GET) PROGRAM.  THE UNITED STATES 
NAVAL ACADEMY (USNA) IS SEEKING MOTIVATED UNRESTRICTED LINE (URL) 
OFFICERS WHO ARE QUALIFIED ACADEMICALLY AND PROFESSIONALLY TO APPLY FOR 
THE FY-10 GET PROGRAM TO SERVE AS BOTH TEACHERS AND ROLE MODELS FOR OUR 
FUTURE NAVAL OFFICERS.

2.  THE GET PROGRAM PROVIDES APPROXIMATELY 12 MONTHS OF GRADUATE 
EDUCATION AT EITHER A SELECTED CIVILIAN INSTITUTION IN THE BALTIMORE, 
MD, AND WASHINGTON, DC, AREA OR NAVAL POSTGRADUATE SCHOOL (NPS).  
DIRECTLY FOLLOWING THE GRADUATE EDUCATION PERIOD IS A TWO-ACADEMIC YEAR 
TEACHING ASSIGNMENT AT USNA AS AN OFFICER-INSTRUCTOR RESULTING IN A 
MAXIMUM 36-MONTH COMBINED TOUR.

AND GRADUATE SCHOOLS AS WELL AS APPLICATION GUIDANCE. ADDITIONAL

4.  COMMUNITY SPECIFIC ELIGIBLE YEAR GROUPS AND ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY
REQUIREMENTS:
    A.  SUBMARINE:
        (1) ELIGIBLE YG:  YG06
        (2) SATISFACTORY PERS-42 EVALUATION OF SOAC GATE AT 7 YCS
    B.  SURFACE:
        (1) ELIGIBLE YG:  YG06-YG07 AND EARLY ROLLERS ON A
            CASE-BY-CASE BASIS DETERMINED BY PERS-41.
        (2) SURFACE OFFICER CONTINUATION PAY CONTRACT MUST BE
            SUBMITTED IMMEDIATELY UPON SELECTION FOR THE GET
            PROGRAM.

5.  TIMELINES:
    A.  19 MARCH 2010:  APPLICATIONS DUE TO COMMANDER, NAVY PERSONNEL 
COMMAND (PERS-440F).
    B.  5 APRIL 2010:  APPLICANTS INFORMED OF SELECTION/NON-SELECTION.
    C.  JUNE - AUGUST 2010:  SELECTEES REPORT TO GRADUATE SCHOOL BASED 
UPON CURRICULUM START DATES.
