RMKS/ 1.  THIS NAVADMIN ANNOUNCES THE 28TH ANNUAL ASSOCIATION OF NAVAL 
SERVICES OFFICERS (ANSO) PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING 
SYMPOSIUM TO BE HELD 29 APRIL 2008-2 MAY 2008 AT NAB LITTLE CREEK, 
DREXLER MANOR CONFERENCE CENTER, VIRGINIA BEACH, VA.  THE SYMPOSIUM 
WILL INCLUDE EDUCATIONAL AND TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES, AND PRESENTATIONS 
FROM USN, USMC AND USCG SERVICE CHIEFS, AND SENIOR ENLISTED 
ADVISORS,WHICH ARE INTENDED TO ENHANCE THE PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE OF 
ATTENDEES,WHILE INCREASING OVERALL AWARENESS OF ISSUES AFFECTING THE 
SEA SERVICES.ALSO, THERE WILL BE OPPORTUNITIES FOR ONE-ON-ONE MENTORING 
WITH SENIOR OFFICERS AND ENLISTED SAILORS.  THE THEME FOR THIS YEAR?S 
CONFERENCE IS "HISPANIC AMERICANS:  MAKING A POSITIVE IMPACT ON 
AMERICAN SOCIETY."  THE SYMPOSIUM IS OPEN TO ALL PERSONNEL.
2.  ANSO’S MISSION IS TO ASSIST OFFICER RECRUITMENT EFFORTS IN THE 
HISPANIC COMMUNITY; SUPPORT AND NURTURE JUNIOR ENLISTED PERSONNEL 
DESIRING TO APPLY FOR OFFICER PROGRAMS; AND FOSTER THE PROFESSIONAL 
GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OF HISPANIC SEA SERVICES PERSONNEL THROUGH 
MENTORING, NETWORKING, TRAINING AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS.
3.  COMMANDING OFFICERS ARE AUTHORIZED AND ENCOURAGED TO SUPPORT 
ATTENDANCE AND MAY UTILIZE AVAILABLE TAD FUNDS.  IF UNIT FUNDS ARE NOT 
AVAILABLE, PERMISSIVE TAD ORDERS MAY BE ISSUED.  USE OF AVAILABLE 
GOVERNMENT TRANSPORTATION AND ON-BASE LODGING ARE ENCOURAGED TO ENHANCE 
CONFERENCE PARTICIPATION AND TO HELP DEFRAY COSTS. SEVERAL ENTERPRISES/ 
COMMUNITIES HAVE OFFERED TO FUND SOME ATTENDEES.  FURTHER, THE CHIEF OF 
NAVAL PERSONNEL WILL FUND UP TO 100 REGISTRATION FEES. 
4.  CONFERENCE UNIFORM FOR NAVY PERSONNEL WILL BE SERVICE KHAKI FOR E-7 
AND ABOVE, AND SUMMER WHITES FOR E-6 AND BELOW.  BANQUET UNIFORM WILL 
BE DINNER DRESS WHITE JACKET (OR OPTIONAL SERVICE DRESS WHITE FOR O-3 
AND BELOW).  CIVILIAN ATTENDEES AND GUESTS SHOULD WEAR BLACK TIE OR 
EQUIVALENT.

FEES WILL INCREASE BY 25.00 DOLLARS FOR BOTH MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS 
AFTER 4 APRIL 2008 (LATE REGISTRATION BEGINS ON 5 APRIL 2008).  ANSO 
HAS SPECIAL RATES FOR OFFICER CANDIDATES (MIDSHIPMAN AND CADETS).
