RMKS/1. I am pleased to announce the selection of CTR1(IW/SW/SG/EXW) Jared
D. Mollette as the 2017 Naval Shore Activities Sailor of the Year.
2. CTR1(IW/SW/SG/EXW) Jared D. Mollette was nominated by the Commander,U.S.
Fleet Cyber Command/U.S. TENTH Fleet and selected from a field of 20
nominations representing some of the finest Petty Officers currently serving
in our Navy.
Congratulations to him and the other four exceptional finalists:
a. HM1(SW) Jane Lynn V. Borja representing Chief, Bureau of
Medicine and Surgery.
b. HM1(EXW/FMF/DV/PJ) Brandon S. Elrod representing Commander,
Naval Sea Systems Command.
c. ABH1(AW/SW) Joshua L. Schmeck representing Commander, Navy
Instillations Command.
d. SO1(SEAL) Aaron K. Smith representing Commander, Naval
Special Warfare Command.
3. The competition was robust and reflected the high caliber of Sailors
serving at shore activities throughout the world. All of the finalists
represented their commands and the entire enlisted community with
distinction.
4. Petty Officer Mollette will next compete during the 2017 Navy Shore
Sailor of the Year competition in April.
