SUBJ/2016 NAVAL SHORE ACTIVITIES SAILOR OF THE YEAR//

RMKS/1.  I am pleased to announce the selection of BU1(SCW) Thomas J. Camara 
as the 2016 Naval Shore Activities Sailor of the Year.

2.  BU1(SCW) Thomas J. Camara was nominated by the Commanding Officer, 
USS CONSTITUTION and selected from a field of 21 nominations representing 
some of the finest Petty Officers currently serving in our Navy.  
Congratulations to him and the other four exceptional finalists:
    a.  YN1(AW) Alison J. Ford representing Commander, Naval Air Force 
Reserve Command.
    b.  CTT1(IW/SW) Toby W. Gallt representing Commander, U.S. Fleet Cyber 
Command.
    c.  HM1(FMF) Cameron C. Graham Jr. representing Chief, Bureau of Medicine 
and Surgery.
    d.  EM1(SW/AW) Disi Zhao representing Commander, Naval Sea Systems 
Command.

3.  The competition was robust and reflected the high caliber of Sailors 
serving at shore activities throughout the world.  All of the finalists 
represented their commands and the entire enlisted community with 
distinction.

4.  Petty Officer Camara will next compete during the 2016 Navy Shore Sailor 
of the Year competition in April.
