RMKS/1.  It is with great pleasure that I announce the selection of Navy 
Medicine Professional Development Center as the Fiscal Year 2016 winner of 
the USS BAINBRIDGE (CGN 25) Award for Overall Excellence in Community 
Service.  Per reference (a), this annual award recognizes a Navy command that 
engaged in exemplary voluntary community service activities working with 
local communities.  Sailors at Navy Medicine Professional Development Center 
greatly improved the lives of more than 80,000 members of their local 
community by donating more than 2,500 hours through partnerships with local 
agencies and demonstrated personal excellence by encouraging local youth to 
reach their fullest potential in the areas of education and civic 
responsibility.

2.  Selection was highly competitive with the winner chosen from a field of 
17 outstanding nominees.  BRAVO ZULU to Naval Air Technical Training Center, 
Pensacola and Navy Information Operations Command, Hawaii for receiving 
honorable mention.
