RMKS/1.  I am pleased to announce the selection of LS1(SW/EXW) Amber L. 
Wilson as the 2016 Navy Shore Sailor of the Year.

2.  Petty Officer Wilson was the Manpower, Personnel, Training and Education 
Sailor of the Year and was selected from a field of five outstanding 
finalists representing the finest Petty Officers serving ashore. 
Congratulations to her and the other finalists:

    a.  BU1(SCW) Thomas I. Camara, representing Naval Shore
    Activities
    b.  PS1(EXW) Aliscia S. Malone, representing U.S. Fleet Forces
    Command
    c.  AWV1(NAC/AW) David W. Matuska, representing U.S. Pacific

    d.  HM1(SW/IW) Terrell, representing U.S. Naval Forces Europe

3.  The competition was robust and reflected the highest caliber of Sailors 
serving ashore throughout the world.  Each of the finalists represented their 
commands and the entire enlisted community with distinction.

4.  Petty Officer Wilson will be meritoriously advanced to Chief Petty 
Officer in May 2017.
