RMKS/1. THIS NAVADMIN ANNOUNCES TWO UPCOMING RALLIES FOR THE 2012
PEER MENTORING PROGRAM, COALITION OF SAILORS AGAINST DESTRUCTIVE
DECISIONS (CSADD). PER REF A, CSADD WAS DESIGNED AS A RESOURCE AND
TOOL FOR ACTIVE AND RESERVE SAILORS, RESERVE OFFICER TRAINING CORPS
(ROTC) CANDIDATES, AND JUNIOR RESERVE OFFICER TRAINING CORPS (JROTC)
TO PROMOTE GOOD DECISION MAKING PROCESSES, ENABLE LEADERSHIP
DEVELOPMENT AND INFLUENCE POSITIVE DECISION- MAKING AT THE MOST JUNIOR
LEVEL. THROUGH PEER TO PEER CONNECTIONS, CSADD IMPLEMENTS 21ST CENTURY
SAILOR AND MARINE INITIATIVES TO BUILD THE MOST COMBAT
EFFECTIVE FORCE.
2. THERE WILL BE TWO SCHEDULED CSADD RALLIES THIS YEAR. THE FIRST
RALLY WILL BE CONDUCTED AT NORFOLK NAVAL STATION, C9 THEATRE, NORFOLK,
VA ON 22-23 MAY 2012 AND THE SECOND WILL BE AT NAVAL BASE CORONADO, CA
ON 12-13 JUNE 2012. THE THEME IS "NAVIGATING SUCCESS". PARTICIPATION
IS OPEN TO ALL CSADD REGIONS, CHAPTERS, AND LOCAL AREA COMMAND
LEADERSHIP. COORDINATION IS ENCOURAGED AMONG ECHELON II, ECHELON III,
AND REGIONAL COMMANDS TO OPTIMIZE COST-EFFECTIVE PARTICIPATION BY
SAILORS WISHING TO ATTEND.
3. THESE INAUGURAL PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT RALLIES WILL INCLUDE
ADDRESSES BY SENIOR LEADERSHIP AND BRIEFS BY SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTS AND
EXPERIENCED TRAINING PROFESSIONALS. THE FOCUS WILL BE ON MANY OF THE
TOPICS OUTLINED IN REF B.
4. THE KEY FOCAL TOPICS ARE DESIGNED TO PROVOKE THOUGHT, INSPIRE YOUNG
LEADERS TO DISCUSS THESE ISSUES, AND CREATE AWARENESS THROUGH A VARIETY
OF SOCIAL NETWORKS AND ACTIVITIES AT THE MOST JUNIOR LEVEL. CSADD
ENCOURAGES POSITIVE INFLUENCE AND BEHAVIOR WHILE AT THE SAME TIME BRINGING
TOGETHER ON-LINE SOCIAL NETWORKING WITH PEER INTERACTION AND IN-PERSON
NETWORKING, REINFORCING THE MESSAGE OF SHIPMATES HELPING
SHIPMATES. ALL COMMANDS ARE HIGHLY ENCOURAGED TO ENERGIZE AND ASSIST
THIS GROUP OF LEADERS IN GROWING SUCCESS WITHIN THEIR COMMANDS AND
THROUGHOUT OUR NAVY. WE HAVE EXPERIENCED IMPROVEMENTS IN ALL AREAS OF
PERSONAL CONDUCT AND SAFETY DURING THIS YEAR OF CSADD. YOUR EFFORTS TO
SUPPORT THESE GROUPS AND ACTVITIES WILL ENABLE CONTINUED SUCCESS AS OUR
YOUNG SAILORS TAKE ON LEADERSHIP CHALLENGES ON AND OFF-DUTY.
5. UNIFORM FOR THE RALLIES IS: DAY 1, NAVY WORKING UNIFORM (NWU) AND
DAY 2, APPROPRIATE CIVILIAN ATTIRE WITH CSADD CHAPTER SHIRT IF AVAILABLE.
