RMKS/1.  THIS NAVADMIN ANNOUNCES THE 22ND ANNUAL SEA SERVICE LEADERSHIP 
ASSOCIATION (SSLA) WOMEN'S SYMPOSIUM WHICH WILL BE HELD ON 18-19 JUNE 
2009 AT THE GRAND HYATT IN WASHINGTON DC.  THIS YEAR'S THEME IS 
"SUCCESS STRATEGIES FOR THE WEEK, THE YEAR AND YOUR CAREER."  
2.  THE PURPOSE OF THE ANNUAL SYMPOSIUM IS TO FOSTER EDUCATION AND 
CAREER DEVELOPMENT, AS WELL AS PROVIDE NETWORKING AND MENTORING 
OPPORTUNITIES FOR ACTIVE AND RESERVE MEMBERS OF THE SEA SERVICES.  
EVENT TOPICS INCLUDE:  THE STIGMA OF FEMALE NETWORKING AND MENTORING, 
CONFLICT MANAGEMENT AND WOMEN AT WAR.  KEYNOTE SPEAKERS ARE ADM GARY
ROUGHEAD, CHIEF OF NAVAL OPERATIONS, VADM MARK FERGUSON, CHIEF OF NAVAL 
PERSONNEL AND DEE DEE MYERS, FORMER WHITE HOUSE PRESS SECRETARY AND 
AUTHOR OF "WHY WOMEN SHOULD RULE THE WORLD."  ADDITIONALLY, COMMUNITIES 
WILL HOST INDIVIDUAL BREAKOUT SESSIONS ON THE AFTERNOON OF 19 JUNE 2009 
TO ADDRESS UNIQUE ISSUES AND ACTIVITIES WITHIN THEIR SPECIFIC FIELD.  
3.  ATTENDANCE IS GEARED TOWARDS ACTIVE DUTY AND RESERVE PERSONNEL.  
RETIREES AND CIVILIAN PERSONNEL ARE ALSO WELCOME.  COMMANDING OFFICERS 
ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO SUPPORT MAXIMUM ATTENDANCE TO FURTHER 
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF PERSONNEL.  ISSUANCE OF TAD ORDERS, TO 
INCLUDE REGISTRATION, TRANSPORTATION, LODGING AND PER DIEM IS 
AUTHORIZED.
4.  REGISTRATION INFORMATION IS AS FOLLOWS:
    A.  REGISTRATION DETAILS ARE POSTED ON THE NAVY'S OFFICE OF WOMEN'S 
POLICY WEBSITE AT WWW.NPC.NAVY.MIL/ABOUTUS/BUPERS/WOMENSPOLICY/ UNDER 
2009 SSLA WOMEN'S SYMPOSIUM.
    B.  REGISTRATION COST WILL BE $161.00 PER ATTENDEE.  PAYMENTS 
SHOULD BE PAID ONLINE VIA THE WOMEN'S POLICY WEBSITE LISTED ABOVE. 
THERE WILL BE NO ON-SITE REGISTRATION.  REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT IS DUE 
BY 4 JUNE 2009.  CONFERENCE RESERVATIONS AFTER THIS DATE CANNOT BE 
GUARANTEED.
    C.  LODGING IS AVAILABLE AT THE GRAND HYATT AT THE GOVERNMENT RATE 
OF $209.00 PER NIGHT.  RESERVATIONS MUST BE MADE DIRECTLY WITH HOTEL.
CONFIRMATION CODE FOR BLOCKED ROOMS IS USCG.  ROOMS MUST BE BOOKED BY 
18 MAY 2009, ROOM AVAILABILITY CANNOT BE GUARANTEED AFTER THIS DATE.

AND IS CENTRALLY LOCATED IN PENN QUARTER WITH CONVENIENT IN-LOBBY METRO 
ACCESS.  RECOMMEND ATTENDEES FLY INTO RONALD REAGAN WASHINGTON NATIONAL 
AIRPORT AND TAKE THE METRO TO THE HOTEL.  ALL EVENTS ARE LOCATED ON 
SITE AND RENTAL CARS ARE NOT REQUIRED.
