RMKS/1. This naval message announces the call for nominations for the 2022
Department of Defense (DoD) Chief Information Officer (CIO) Awards Program
that recognizes individuals and teams for exceptional achievements in DoD
Information Technology and Digital Modernization, focused in the following
capabilities: Cybersecurity; Command, Control and Communications; Artificial
Intelligence; Software Modernization; Cloud Computing; Data; Cyberspace
Workforce; Electronic Records Management; Section 508/Accessibility to
Information and Communication Technology; and Positioning, Navigation, and
Timing.
2. The eligibility period is July 2021 to June 2022.
3. Active duty service members (officers and enlisted) in the grade O6 and
below or DoD civilians GS15 and below are eligible. Contractors may be
recognized as part of a team, if led by military or DoD civilian.
4. Submission requirements are outlined in reference (a), located in the
folder: 2022 DOD CIO Annual Award Nomination at

Nomination packages must be unclassified and submitted to LT Harvey Mercado
at harvey.a.mercado.mil@us.navy.mil and Michele Boswell at
shirley.m.boswell.civ@us.navy.mil no later than 1 August 2022 for
processing. Nominations received after 1 August 2022 will not be considered,
and those submitted directly to DoD CIO will be rejected. Ensure you use
bullet format and have input for each criteria element listed in reference
(a); N/A is not acceptable.
