RMKS/1. This NAVADMIN reinforces references A through J and provides
additional information concerning the Secretary of the Navy's guidance on
political activities of Department of Navy Personnel, reference (K), and the
training requirements therein.
2. To standardize the training requirements for Department of the Navy
Service Members, as contained in reference (K), Commanding Officers and
Supervisors may utilize prepared training materials available on MyNavy
Portal (MNP) at the following link: https://www.mnp.navy.mil/group/training-
education-qualifications/gmt (note: may need to log into MNP first).
3. As indicated in reference (K), training must be completed by
15 September 2024. If operational requirements impede completion by the
aforementioned date, extension requests shall be submitted through the first
Flag or General Officer in the chain of command, via Chief of Naval Personnel
(Manpower, Personnel, and Training) (OPNAV N1), and ultimately to the
Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Manpower and Reserve Affairs for
adjudication.
Requests for extensions can be submitted as follows:
3.1. Submit written extension requests NLT 28 August 2024 on command
letterhead endorsed by first flag or general officer in the chain of command
to OPNAV N1 via email to opnavn13m7all@us.navy.mil for processing and routing
to ASN (MR&A).
3.2. Request should indicate operational reason why training cannot be
completed by 15 September 2024 and the estimated date the training will be
completed.
