Bright Hancock and Master Chief Anna Der-Vartanian Leadership Awards.

3. Established in 1987, the CAPT Joy Bright Hancock and Master Chief Anna 
Der-Vartanian Leadership Awards are presented annually to honor the visionary 
leadership of Navy service members whose ideals and dedication foster an 
inclusive culture by furthering the integration of women into the Navy.

4.  In line with reference (a), candidates were nominated by their commanding 
officers and officers-in-charge with endorsements from their immediate 
superior in command.  The 2020 winners were selected from over 100 high-
caliber nominations.  For commands desiring feedback on nominations submitted 
this year or those seeking guidance regarding future nominations, contact the 
POC listed below.

5.  Formal awards presentation is traditionally held at the annual Sea 
Service Leadership Association Joint Womens Leadership Symposium (JWLS).  Due 
to the cancellation of JWLS this year, an appropriate awards presentation 
will be coordinated with the command of each recipient.

inspirational leadership, which helps to shape our future and achieve the
