2.  GEV FUNDING IS AUTHORIZED ONLY FOR OFF-DUTY STUDY IN MASTER DEGREE 
PROGRAMS WHICH MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF AT LEAST ONE APPROVED NAVY 
SUBSPECIALTY CODE AS VERIFIED BY NAVAL POSTGRADUATE SCHOOL  (NPS).
FOR FY-13, 123 GEV QUOTAS ARE PLANNED, SUBJECT TO FUNDING  AVAILABILITY.

3.  UNRESTRICTED LINE OFFICERS INTERESTED IN THE FY-13 GEV PROGRAM SHOULD 
SUBMIT A WRITTEN REQUEST TO THEIR DETAILER USING THE FORMAT PROVIDED IN ENCL 
(1) OF REF A.  FOR SHIPS AT SEA, APPLICATIONS VIA  NAVAL MESSAGE CONTAINING 
THE REQUISITE INFORMATION WILL BE ACCEPTED.

4.  OFFICERS COMPLETING A DEGREE USING GEV BENEFITS MUST FORWARD A  FINAL 
TRANSCRIPT WITH DEGREE CONFERRED TO THE CENTER OF PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL 
DEVELOPMENT VOLUNTARY EDUCATION DETACHMENT, PENSACOLA, FL 32509 AND SHOULD 
EXPECT TO SERVE ONE TOUR IN A SUBSPECIALTY BILLET NOT LATER THAN THE SECOND 
TOUR FOLLOWING GRADUATION.
