RMKS/1. THIS NAVADMIN PROVIDES GUIDANCE FOR SUBMISSION OF FY-12 COALITION OF
SAILORS AGAINST DESTRUCTIVE DECISIONS (CSADD) SEA AND SHORE CHAPTER OF THE
YEAR NOMINATIONS. ALL ACTIVE, RESERVE AND RESERVE OFFICERS' TRAINING CORPS
UNIT CSADD CHAPTERS ARE ELIGIBLE.
2. THE CSADD SEA AND SHORE CHAPTER OF THE YEAR AWARD WAS ESTABLISHED TO
RECOGNIZE THE POSITIVE SOCIAL INTERACTION, LEADERSHIP AND DECISION MAKING
DEMONSTRATED THROUGH THE CSADD EFFORT, WHICH EMPLOYS A VARIETY OF
COMMUNICATION TOOLS AND SOCIAL NETWORKING CREATED AND SUSTAINED BY THE
CHAPTERS. THE OVERALL OBJECTIVE IS TO FOSTER A CULTURE THAT SENDS A CLEAR
MESSAGE DISCOURAGING DESTRUCTIVE DECISION MAKING AND REINFORCING THE SHIPMATE
INTERVENTION CONCEPT. ALL COMMANDS ARE HIGHLY ENCOURAGED TO NOMINATE THIS
GROUP OF LEADERS WITHIN THEIR COMMANDS AND THROUGHOUT OUR NAVY.
3. NOMINATIONS FOR CSADD SEA/SHORE CHAPTER OF THE YEAR AWARDS SHALL INCLUDE
ONLY ACTIVITIES AND SUCCESSES THAT OCCURRED DURING FY-12.
NOMINATIONS SHALL BE SUBMITTED BY THE UNIT COMMANDER OR DESIGNATED
REPRESENTATIVE, WHO WILL FORWARD NOMINATIONS TO THE REGIONAL COMMANDER OF THE
RESPECTIVE CSADD CHAPTER. IF A COMMAND HAS NOT REGISTERED ITS CHAPTER, IT
MUST DO SO, AS OUTLINED IN REF A, PRIOR TO SUBMITTING THE NOMINATION. THE
REGIONAL CHAPTER WILL COMPILE ALL NOMINATIONS FROM WITHIN ITS RESPECTIVE
REGION, SELECT THE TOP SEA AND SHORE CHAPTER AND FORWARD THOSE PACKAGES WITH
REGIONAL COMMANDER ENDORSEMENT, AS DEFINED IN PARA 4.
4. ONE ORIGINAL AND ONE COPY OF THE NOMINATIONS ARE TO BE MAILED BY EACH UNIT
TO ITS APPROPRIATE MAIN CHAPTER (REGIONAL COMMANDER) NO LATER THAN 1 OCTOBER
2012. MAIN CHAPTER SUBMISSIONS WILL BE MAILED NO LATER THAN 1 NOVEMBER 2012

(8) A PARAGRAPH FROM THE CSADD CHAPTER PRESIDENT/LEADER DESCRIBING
CHAPTER CONTRIBUTIONS TO FOSTER A CULTURE OF GOOD DECISION MAKING.
