RMKS/1. This NAVADMIN announces the Association of Naval Services Officers
(ANSO) 2013 leadership symposium which will be held 6 September 2013 at the
Crystal City Gateway Marriott, Arlington, VA.
2. ANSO is an organization that focuses on the mentorship and professional
development of Hispanic service members in the seafaring services. The 2013
leadership symposium will bring together officers, civilian executives,
enlisted personnel, and other senior leaders in the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast
Guard, and maritime industry to learn from, network with, and mentor one
another, as well as conduct professional development training. In order to
make the most of the symposium, it is recommended that attendees bring
evaluations, fitness reports, and other performance records for review.
3. Per ref (a), participation for this conference has been approved within a
limited scope. Navy will sponsor 100 service members by funding their
registrations to the conference. The uniform for this conference will be
summer white. All Navy-funded registrations will be coordinated through the
Navy Office of Diversity and Inclusion. To obtain a conference registration

4. Commands shall not fund registrations. Commands are not authorized to
expend travel funds, including lodging, transportation, and meals and
incidental expenses (M&IE). Lunch is provided 6 September 2013 for those
attending. All other meals will be purchased by the service member.
