RMKS/1. THIS NAVADMIN IS A QUARTERLY ANNOUNCEMENT INVITING ALL NAVY COMMANDS
AND ORGANIZATIONS TO PARTICIPATE IN NAVY'S TOP 50 EXTERNAL RECOGNITION
EFFORTS. WHILE AWARDS WILL TYPICALLY BE SPECIFIC TO THE AREA OF WORKFORCE
MANAGEMENT, THEY ARE NOT MEANT TO PRECLUDE APPLICATION FOR OTHER AWARD
OPPORTUNITIES.
2. THE FIRST AWARD OPPORTUNITY IS THE EXCELLENCE IN PRACTICE AWARD SPONSORED
THROUGH THE AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT (ASTD). THIS AWARD
RECOGNIZES RESULTS ACHIEVED THROUGH THE USE OF PRACTICES AND SOLUTIONS FROM
THE SCOPE OF WORKPLACE LEARNING AND PERFORMANCE. INDIVIDUAL COMMANDS AND
ORGANIZATIONS MAY APPLY FOR THIS AWARD. THE APPLICATION IS DUE TO ASTD BY 22
SEPTEMBER 2010 AND IS AVAILABLE AT

3. THE SECOND AWARD OPPORTUNITY IS TRAINING MAGAZINE'S TRAINING 125 LIST.
NAVY PLACED 17TH IN 2009. ORGANIZATIONS COMPETE FOR PLACEMENT ON THE TOP 125
LIST BASED ON INNOVATION AND SCOPE OF EMPLOYER-SPONSORED TRAINING AND
DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS.
COMMANDS WHO WISH TO SEEK RECOGNITION FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING EFFORTS SHOULD
REQUEST AN APPLICATION AND SUBMIT THEIR INPUTS TO THE N1 POINT OF CONTACT BY
19 AUGUST. NAVY WILL APPLY FOR THIS AWARD WITH A SINGLE SUBMISSION.
4. THE THIRD AWARD OPPORTUNITY IS THE MOVING INTO THE FUTURE AWARD, SPONSORED
BY THE FAMILIES AND WORK INSTITUTE AND CONFERENCE BOARD. THIS NATIONAL AWARD
IS GIVEN TO EMPLOYERS FOR THEIR EFFORTS IN CREATIVELY ADDRESSING ISSUES OF THE
WORKFORCE, WORKPLACE, AND COMMUNITY IN WAYS THAT YIELD POSITIVE IMPACT FOR
MULTIPLE STAKEHOLDERS.
REQUEST AN APPLICATION FROM THE N1 POINT OF CONTACT. THE APPLICATION IS DUE
TO THE FAMILIES AND WORK INSTITUTE BY 30 SEPTEMBER 2010.
5. NAVY CONTINUES TO PROVIDE SAILOR AND FAMILY SUPPORT PROGRAMS WHICH ARE
COMPETITIVE WITH THE BEST CORPORATE AMERICA HAS TO OFFER. SINCE 2008, NAVY
HAS EARNED TWENTY-FOUR AWARDS IN AREAS OF TRAINING, DIVERSITY, LIFE-WORK
INTEGRATION, AND WORKFORCE MANAGEMENT.
