RMKS/1. Ref (a) FY14 Ship Inactivation Schedule is amended to include the
following inactivation:
Ship Name Inactivation Post Decommissioning Status
USNS Flint (T-AE 32) 08 Nov 2013 See paragraph 1.a below
a. Vessel will be disposed of by dismantlement (scrapping). Naval Sea
Systems Command shall coordinate custody transfer and lay-up requirements
directly with Military Sealift Command and Maritime Administration.
Reporting requirements shall be in accordance with refs (c), (d), and
paragraph 3 below.
2. Ref (b) FY13 Ship Inactivation Schedule is amended to include the
following inactivation:
Ship Name Inactivation Post Decommissioning Status
USS Miami (SSN 755) 27 Sep 2013 Recycle/See paragraph 2.a below
a. Date inactivation availability commences and the vessel is no longer
counted in the Navy's battle force. Official status of the vessel will be
in-commission/in-reserve pending decommissioning at a later date. Final
decommissioning date shall be reported in accordance with refs (c), (d), and
paragraph 3 below.
3. Per ref (c), all ship Commanding Officers/Masters or Ship Immediate
Superior in Command shall send a separate naval message announcing that the
actual decommissioning/service completion date. It shall be addressed to CNO
WASHINGTON DC//, copy respective OPNAV ship resource/platform sponsor, CNO
WASHINGTON//N00/N09/N1/N9/N9I/N4/N43/ support activities, COMNAVSEASYSCOM
WASHINGTON DC//SEA 05C/SEA 21//NAVHISTHERITAGECOM N8/N9/N91//, and the Naval
Vessel Register Custodian per ref (d).
4. Released by Vice Admiral J. P. Aucoin, Deputy Chief of Naval Operations,
