ANALYSIS AND POLICY-MAKING, AWARD WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT//

RMKS/1.  This NAVADMIN announces the 2013 Admiral Jeremy M. Boorda Award for 
outstanding integration of analysis and policy-making. 
This award recognizes those who have made a significant contribution to Navy 
personnel readiness either through research and analysis, or direct 
application of analytical results and efforts to policies and laws.
2.  It is with great pleasure I announce the winners of the 2013 Admiral 
Jeremy M. Boorda Award.  In the military category, the award goes to CDR 
Arjay Nelson of Navy Personnel Command.  In the civilian category, the award 
goes to the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division team 
consisting of Melissa Walwanis, Jennifer Pagan, Sandra Velez, Bruce Riner, 
Ryan Hurley, Jennifer Fowlkes, and John Hodak; Naval Air Systems Command 
consisting of LCDR Henry Phillips; Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division 
team consisting of John Dicola, Christian Riddle, Steve Naylor, Joseph King, 
and CDR Jim Patrey; Naval Aviation Training Systems consisting of LCDR Brent 
Olde; Office of Naval Research consisting of CDR Joseph Cohn and Amy Bolton.
3.  The competition was extremely keen and characterized the high caliber of 
analysts serving throughout the Navy in support of the Navy Total Force.  All 
nominees for this award made outstanding contributions and are to be 
congratulated for their service to our nation.
4.  The award will be presented by Vice Admiral Moran, Deputy Chief of Naval 
Operations (Manpower, Personnel, Training and Education)
(N1) at an appropriate ceremony in the future.  The team will receive a 
letter of commendation and plaque.  They will also have their names engraved 
on the Admiral Jeremy M. Boorda Award for Outstanding Integration of Analysis 
and Policy-making plaque retained in the DCNO (N1)/Chief of Naval Personnel 
headquarters.
