YEAR 2007 BY MAINTAINING A PERFECT AVIATION SAFETY RECORD DURING 206
DAYS OF UNDERWAY OPERATIONS AND COMPLETING 1,126 FLIGHT HOURS, OF WHICH
37 PERCENT WERE AT NIGHT. THE USS JAMES E WILLIAMS/ HSL 44 TEAM FULLY
EMBRACED OPERATIONAL RISK MANAGEMENT AND INTEGRATED SAFETY PREPAREDNESS
INTO EVERY AVIATION EVOLUTION. THEY SHARED THEIR KNOWLEDGE WITH THE
FLEET THROUGH SUBMISSION OF TECHNICAL PUBLICATION DISCREPANCY REPORTS,
AND TEN SAFETY ARTICLES TO APPROACH MAGAZINE.
3. USS DUBUQUE MAINTAINED AN OUTSTANDING AVIATION SAFETY RECORD WHILE
CONDUCTING MORE THAN 211 MISHAP-FREE FLIGHT HOURS DURING DEPLOYMENT IN
THIRD, FIFTH, AND SEVENTH FLEETS AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY DURING
CALENDAR YEAR 2007, USS DUBUQUE CONDUCTED 1,009 DAY LANDINGS,
578 NIGHT LANDINGS, TRANSFERRED 486 PASSENGERS, AND TRANSFERRED 128
TONS OF CARGO. OF PARTICULAR NOTE, THIS IS DUBUQUE'S SECOND
CONSECUTIVE AWARD.
