RMKS/1. THIS NAVADMIN ANNOUNCES APPLICATION PROCEDURES FOR THE FY-08
GRADUATE EDUCATION PLUS TEACHING (GET) PROGRAM. THE UNITED STATES
NAVAL ACADEMY (USNA) IS SEEKING MOTIVATED UNRESTRICTED LINE (URL)
OFFICERS WHO ARE QUALIFIED ACADEMICALLY AND PROFESSIONALLY TO APPLY FOR
THE FY-08 GET PROGRAM TO SERVE AS BOTH TEACHERS AND ROLE MODELS FOR OUR
FUTURE NAVAL OFFICERS.
2. THE GET PROGRAM PROVIDES APPROXIMATELY 12 MONTHS OF GRADUATE
EDUCATION AT EITHER A SELECTED CIVILIAN INSTITUTION IN THE BALTIMORE,
MD/WASHINGTON, DC AREA OR THE NAVAL POSTGRADUATE SCHOOL (NPS), DIRECTLY
FOLLOWED BY A TWO-ACADEMIC-YEAR TEACHING ASSIGNMENT AT USNA AS AN
OFFICER-INSTRUCTOR, RESULTING IN A MAXIMUM 36 MONTH COMBINED TOUR.

AND GRADUATE SCHOOLS, AS WELL AS APPLICATION GUIDANCE.

4. COMMUNITY SPECIFIC ELIGIBLE YEAR GROUPS AND ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY
REQUIREMENTS:
A. SUBMARINE:
(1) ELIGIBLE YG: YG04
(2) SATISFACTORY PERS-42 EVALUATION OF SOAC GATE AT 7 YCS
B. SURFACE:
(1) ELIGIBLE YG: YG04 - YG05 AND EARLY ROLLERS ON A CASE BY
CASE BASIS DETERMINED BY PERS-41.
(2) SURFACE WARFARE OFFICER CONTINUATION PAY CONTRACT MUST BE
SUBMITTED IMMEDIATELY UPON SELECTION FOR THE GET PROGRAM.
5. TIMELINE:
A. 22 FEB 08: APPLICATIONS DUE TO COMMANDER, NAVY PERSONNEL
COMMAND (PERS-440F).
B. 14 MAR 08: APPLICANTS INFORMED OF SELECTION/NON-SELECTION.
C. JUN - AUG 08: SELECTEES REPORT TO GRADUATE SCHOOL BASED UPON
CURRICULUM START DATES.
