RMKS/1. IAW Ref A, each year the Navy recognizes shore, sea, and overseas
commands for outstanding community service efforts with their local
communities by presenting awards in six categories: USS Bainbridge (CGN 25)
Award for Overall Excellence; Personal Excellence Partnership Flagship;
Health, Safety, and Fitness Flagship; Campaign Drug Free Flagship; Project
Good Neighbor Flagship; and Environmental Stewardship Flagship.
2. As sponsor of the Environmental Stewardship Flagship, Deputy Chief of
Naval Operations (Fleet Readiness and Logistics) (N4) salutes commands
engaged in exemplary voluntary community service activities that promote good
stewardship of environmental resources.
3. For the 2016 Environmental Stewardship Flagship awards competition,
nominations were received in the Small, Medium, and, Large Shore categories;
Medium and Large Sea categories; and Small Overseas category.
4. It is with great pleasure that I announce the winners and honorable
mentions of the 2016 Navy Community Service Environmental Stewardship
Flagship awards competition:

5. Winners will receive plaques and honorable mentions will receive
certificates. OPNAV N45 staff will contact commands to arrange delivery of
the awards.
6. This years award winners demonstrated strong commitment to their
environmental programs and communities, and I extend my congratulations on
all of your impressive accomplishments. Representing the Navy as dedicated
stewards of the environment is crucial as we aspire to be good neighbors,
afloat and ashore. Thank you for your continued efforts in supporting the
Navy’s community service program.
