RMKS/1.  THE DEFENSE ACQUISITION CORPS (FORMERLY REFERRED TO AS THE 
ACQUISITION PROFESSIONAL COMMUNITY) SELECTION BOARD IS SCHEDULED TO CONVENE ON 
11 FEBRUARY 2010.  ACQUISITION CORPS MEMBERSHIP IS A PREREQUISITE FOR 
ASSIGNMENT TO ONE OF APPROXIMATELY 700 DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY (DON) CRITICAL 
ACQUISITION POSITION ASSIGNMENTS AND KEY LEADERSHIP POSITIONS.

2.  POLICY AND GUIDANCE ON ACQUISITION CORPS MEMBERSHIP PROCEDURES FOR DON 
OFFICERS IS DESCRIBED IN REF A, AND AT THE FOLLOWING WEBSITE:

3.  APPLICATIONS (NO ENDORSEMENTS REQUIRED) MUST BE SUBMITTED FOR 
CONSIDERATION BY THE BOARD NOT LATER THAN 11 JANUARY 2010.  THE REQUIRED 
APPLICATION COVER LETTER AND DATA SHEET ARE AVAILABLE FROM 
WWW.NPC.NAVY.MIL/OFFICER/ACQUISITION.  ALL APPLICANTS ARE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE 
INFORMATION AS DELINEATED IN THE SAMPLE DATA SHEET.  COPIES OF ORIGINAL 
COLLEGE TRANSCRIPTS ARE ACCEPTABLE TO DOCUMENT COMPLIANCE WITH THE BUSINESS 
ACADEMIC REQUIREMENT.

4.  NAVY RESERVE COMMUNITIES INVOLVED IN NAVY ACQUISITION PROCESSES SHOULD 
PRE-SCREEN ANY RESERVE OFFICER APPLICANTS FOR CONSISTENCY IN ACCOUNTING FOR 
EXPERIENCE BEFORE FORWARDING THESE APPLICATIONS.  THIS PRE-SCREENING 
DOCUMENTATION SHOULD BE INCLUDED WITH THEIR APPLICATION.  PER REF A, RESERVE 
EXPERIENCE CAN ONLY BE ACCRUED EITHER ON INDIVIDUAL RESERVE ASSIGNMENTS OF 120 
DAYS OR LONGER OR FROM CIVILIAN ACQUISITION EXPERIENCE WHEN THE DUTIES AND 
RESPONSIBILITIES MATCH THE PRIMARY CAREER FIELD LISTED ON THE APPLICATION.

5.  THE PREFERRED METHOD OF SUBMITTING APPLICATIONS IS BY MAIL. SUBMISSION OF 
APPLICATION FROM MULTIPLE METHODS IS STRONGLY DISCOURAGED.  APPLICATIONS WILL
