RMKS/1.  THIS NAVADMIN PROVIDES INFORMATION ON EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS AND 
REFERENCES MANY USEFUL AND VALUABLE TOOLS INCLUDING WEBSITES, LINKS, MOBILE 
APPS, SOCIAL MEDIA, AND THE NAVY FAMILY ACCOUNTABILITY AND ASSESSMENT SYSTEM 
(NFAAS).  THE SUPERB CONTENT IN THESE RESOURCES RESULTS FROM LESSONS LEARNED 
FROM RECENT NATURAL DISASTERS THAT HAVE IMPACTED OUR NAVY FAMILIES.  ALL HANDS 
SHOULD USE THE TOOLS LISTED TO PLAN AND PREPARE FOR SUCH EVENTS.

2.  TWO EXCELLENT ONLINE RESOURCES ARE READY NAVY AND READY.GOV.
    A.  READY NAVY.  EFFECTIVE 1 SEPTEMBER 2012, OPERATION PREPARE CHANGED ITS 
NAME TO "READY NAVY".  THE PROGRAM PROVIDES NAVY FAMILIES WITH USEFUL TOOLS 
AND RESOURCES FOR EMERGENCY PLANNING AND  PREPARATION.
KEY ELEMENTS FOR EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS ARE:
        (1) BE INFORMED;
        (2) HAVE AND PERIODICALLY PRACTICE AN EVACUATION PLAN;
        (3) HAVE AND PERIODICALLY PRACTICE A FAMILY COMMUNICATIONS  PLAN; AND
        (4) HAVE EMERGENCY KITS READILY AVAILABLE.
