RMKS/1. THIS NAVADMIN ANNOUNCES THE CANCELLATION OF REF A.
NAVY CONTINUES TO MAKE SIGNIFICANT PROGRESS IN BALANCING OUR ENLISTED FORCE
AND IS WELL POSITIONED FOR NAVY'S FUTURE MISSIONS. IN CONJUNCTION WITH ON-
GOING EFFORTS TO STABILIZE AND ALIGN THE FORCE, THE VOLUNTARY ENLISTED EARLY
TRANSITION PROGRAM (EETP) AND ITS PROVISIONS ARE SUSPENDED EFFECTIVE
IMMEDIATELY. REQUESTS TO SEPARATE UNDER THIS PROGRAM WILL NO LONGER BE
ACCEPTED BY COMNAVPERSCOM (PERS-832). REQUESTS RECEIVED BY COMNAVPERSCOM
(PERS-832) ON OR AFTER THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS MESSAGE WILL BE RETURNED
WITHOUT ACTION. REQUESTS SUBMITTED AND RECEIVED PRIOR TO THE EFFECTIVE DATE
OF THIS MESSAGE WILL BE ACCEPTED AND ADJUDICATED.
2. COMMANDING OFFICERS ARE NO LONGER AUTHORIZED TO SEPARATE SAILORS UP TO 90
DAYS PRIOR TO SOFT END OF ACTIVE OBLIGATED SERVICE UNDER EETP. COMMANDING
OFFICERS MAY AUTHORIZE VOLUNTARY EARLY SEPARATION LISTED IN MILPERSMAN ARTICLE
1910-102, PROVIDED REQUIREMENTS LISTED THEREIN ARE MET.
3. EETP WILL REMAIN SUSPENDED UNTIL THERE IS SUFFICIENT FUTURE NEED FOR THIS
PROGRAM. THE EARLY CAREER TRANSITION PROGRAM OUTLINED IN REF B IS UNAFFECTED
AND REMAINS AN OPTION FOR SAILORS SEEKING EARLY RELEASE FROM ACTIVE DUTY WITH
AN INTENT TO CONTINUE THEIR CAREERS IN THE NAVY RESERVE.
