RMKS/1.  THIS NAVADMIN ANNOUNCES THE CONVENING OF THE NAVY'S LIMITED DUTY 
OFFICER (LDO) AND CHIEF WARRANT OFFICER (CWO) LEADERSHIP SYMPOSIUM TO BE HELD 
ON BOARD NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY MID-SOUTH, MILLINGTON, TN, FROM 16-18 NOVEMBER 
2010.  THE SYMPOSIUM WILL BE FOLLOWED BY AN OPTIONAL DAY (19 NOVEMBER) FOR 
SELECTION BOARD TRAINING DESIGNED FOR THOSE OFFICERS NOT HAVING PRIOR BOARD 
EXPERIENCE.  TRAINING WILL BE ON SELECTION BOARD PROCEDURES, HOW TO HIGHLIGHT 
AN OFFICER SUMMARY REPORT(OSR), AND GOOD RECORD BRIEFING PRACTICES.

2.  THE FOCUS OF THIS YEAR'S SYMPOSIUM IS TO DISCUSS THE RESULTS OF THE YEAR 
LONG EFFORT TO OUTLINE THE FUTURE WORK OF THE LDO/CWO COMMUNITY THROUGH 
SHAPING REQUIREMENTS TO SUSTAIN A VIABLE CAREER PATH WHILE MEETING THE NEEDS 
OF THE NAVY.

3.  THE SYMPOSIUM WILL BE HELD IN BLDG 791, ROOM B-113.  SIXTY ROOMS HAVE BEEN 
RESERVED AT THE NAVY INN ON BOARD NSA MID-SOUTH.

4.  A DETAILED AGENDA FOR THE SYMPOSIUM WILL BE SENT VIA SEPARATE 
CORRESPONDENCE NLT ONE WEEK PRIOR TO CONVENING.

5.  PER REF A, COMMANDING OFFICERS MAY ISSUE ORDERS FOR ATTENDANCE AT 
GOVERNMENT EXPENSE AFTER DETERMINING THE OBJECTIVES TO BE ACHIEVED JUSTIFY THE 
EXPENSE (INCLUDING FEES, TRAVEL COSTS, AND OTHER COSTS ATTRIBUTABLE TO 
PARTICIPATION).  GOVERNMENT EXPENSE SHOULD BE MINIMIZED BY DESIGNATING THE 
MINIMUM NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS NECESSARY TO ACHIEVE SYMPOSIUM GOALS.  REQUEST 
COMMANDERS SUPPORT ATTENDANCE BY THE SENIOR MEMBER OF THE DESIGNATOR
(O6/CWO5) IF OPERATIONAL COMMITMENTS ALLOW.

6.  THE SYMPOSIUM IS DESIGNED TO ADDRESS ISSUES WITH REGARDS TO THE ACTIVE 
DUTY LDO AND CWO COMMUNITIES, HOWEVER, SENIOR REPRESENTATIVES FROM THE RESERVE 
LDO AND CWO COMMUNITY ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND.
