TRAUMATICALLY INJURED SERVICE MEMBERS AND THEIR FAMILIES TO EASE THE FINANCIAL
BURDENS ASSOCIATED WITH RECOVERING FROM A SERIOUS INJURY. PAYMENTS RANGE FROM

SGLI COVERAGE AMOUNT IN FORCE AT THE TIME OF SEPARATION FROM SERVICE. SERVICE
MEMBERS NOW HAVE UP TO 240 DAYS FOLLOWING THEIR DATE OF SEPARATION TO CONVERT
EXISTING SGLI TO VGLI COVERAGE WITHOUT THE NEED TO PROVIDE EVIDENCE OF GOOD
