RMKS/1. THIS NAVADMIN ANNOUNCES THE NAVY COUNSELORS ASSOCIATION
(NCA) 24TH ANNUAL PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING SYMPOSIUM
AT THE COOK CONVENTION CENTER IN MEMPHIS, TN, FROM 24-27 SEPTEMBER
2012. THIS YEARS THEME IS: "READY TODAY THROUGH RELEVANT AND
CAPABLE TRAINING."
2. THE SYMPOSIUM PROVIDES AN OPPORTUNITY TO DISCUSS A BROAD RANGE
OF CAREER ISSUES AND CONCERNS, ALLOWS MEMBERS TO ADDRESS AND WORK
TOWARD INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS TO CURRENT AND FUTURE RETENTION,
ATTRITION, AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT ISSUES. COMMAND CAREER
COUNSELORS, COMMAND MASTER CHIEFS, CAREER DEVELOPMENT TEAM
MEMBERS, RECRUITERS, DETAILERS, AND OTHER MILITARY AND CIVILIAN
PERSONNEL INVOLVED IN THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF SAILORS ARE
ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND.
3. TEMPORARY ADDITIONAL DUTY ORDERS ARE REQUIRED TO COVER
EXPENSES, INCLUDING THE REGISTRATION FEE OF $150.00. THERE IS NO
GOVERNMENT MESSING AVAILABLE IN THE SYMPOSIUM AREA. HOTEL
RESERVATION INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE AT WWW.USNCA.ORG.
4. EACH YEAR DURING THE SYMPOSIUM, THE NCA RECOGNIZES THREE CAREER
COUNSELORS OF THE YEAR, ONE FROM SEA DUTY (TYPE 2, 3, OR 4), ONE
FROM SHORE DUTY (TYPE 1 OR 6), AND ONE FROM THE RESERVE FORCE.
COMMANDS MAY NOMINATE ASSIGNED CAREER COUNSELORS (E6 AND BELOW)
USING THE FORMAT IN THE NCA BY-LAWS AVAILABLE AT WWW.USNCA.ORG.
PACKAGE MUST INCLUDE A 5X7, FRONT AND SIDE COLOR PHOTOGRAPH.
MEMBER WILL BE IN NAVY SERVICE UNIFORM (NSU). NOMINATIONS MUST BE
ENDORSED BY RESPECTIVE TYCOMS AND SHOULD ADDRESS SPECIFIC
ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE CAREER COUNSELOR COMMUNITY
DURING THE PREVIOUS 12 MONTHS. PACKAGES MUST BE RECEIVED AT THE
