RMKS/1. THIS NAVADMIN PROVIDES ADDITIONAL GUIDANCE FOR THE ASSOCIATION OF
NAVAL SERVICES OFFICERS (ANSO) LEADERSHIP, PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND
TRAINING GENERAL CONVENTION BEING HELD 6-10 AUGUST 2012 AT THE MANCHESTER
GRAND HYATT, SAN DIEGO, CA.
2. OSD HAS GIVEN APPROVAL FOR NAVY TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 2012 ANSO
CONVENTION; GUIDANCE BELOW GOVERNS PARTICIPATION AND FUNDING FOR NAVY
PERSONNEL.
3. COMMANDING OFFICERS ARE AUTHORIZED TO SUPPORT ATTENDANCE.
COMMANDING OFFICERS MAY AUTHORIZE AND ISSUE TAD ORDERS, TO INCLUDE
REGISTRATION, TRANSPORTATION, LODGING AND PER DIEM IAW REF A. PER REF B,
TRAVEL ORDERS AND ASSOCIATED CLAIMS MUST REFLECT WHEN THE REGISTRATION FEE
INCLUDES CHARGES FOR MEALS AND THE DATES ON WHICH THE MEALS ARE FURNISHED.
4. IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE THE MOST COST-EFFECTIVE TRANSPORTATION AVAILABLE,
AGGREGATION OF CONVENTION TRANSPORTATION REQUIREMENTS IS ENCOURAGED. USE OF
NAVY OPERATIONAL SUPPORT AIRLIFT AND NAVY UNIQUE FLEET ESSENTIAL AIRCRAFT MAY
BE REQUESTED, IAW REF C.
5. PER REF D, SELECTED RESERVE PERSONNEL ARE AUTHORIZED TO PARTICIPATE AT THE
ANSO GENERAL CONVENTION IN A PAID DRILL STATUS.
6. REGISTRATION, TRANSPORTATION, AND LODGING INFORMATION CAN BE FOUND ON THE
ANSO WEBSITE AT WWW.ANSOMIL.ORG. REGISTRATION FEES FOR THE ENTIRE CONVENTION,
INCLUDING THE AWARDS BANQUET, ARE $375 FOR MEMBERS, $450 FOR NON-MEMBERS AND
$150 FOR MIDSHIPMEN AND CADETS.
DAILY REGISTRATION FEES ARE $150 FOR MEMBERS AND $175 FOR NON-MEMBERS.
7. THE CHIEF OF NAVAL PERSONNEL WILL FUND THE FIRST 100 JUNIOR OFFICERS
(LIEUTENANT COMMANDER AND BELOW). PERSONNEL PLANNING TO ATTEND SHOULD
REGISTER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE FOR THE CONVENTION AND THE HOTEL TO ENSURE
RESERVATIONS ARE AVAILABLE.
